I am from Florida and live in New York. I enjoy writing, editing, and filmmaking. I studied English, French, and Spanish at the University of Florida, then did a Fulbright in France, and then earned degrees in French and law at Yale. While in Connecticut, I volunteered with the Rikers Debate Project and founded a program for female prisoners.
My main research interest remains the consequences of the "sexual revolution," broadly defined. I am currently revising a manuscript about far-Left opposition to the anti-rape movement in post-1968 France, and the rightward drift of the concept of "sexual misery."
In addition to academic writing, I write fiction, poetry, and essays. My work has been in The Paris Review, The Believer, The New Statesman, The Times of London, Bright Lights Film Journal, Hobart, Forever, etc.
I used to co-host a podcast. I run an all-girls writing workshop. Don't hesitate to write about any of the above.
