The End

The End is a magazine of fiction and poetry edited by Ann Manov and assistant editors and designed by Christopher McCaffery. We do not publish criticism or reportage, nor do we consider pitches.

The End 1: Resentment was released in December 2023. It included the writers (in order of appearance) Julia Mounsey, Ani Tatintsyan, Daniel Matthew, Sydney Hirsch, Natalie Viebrock, James Tadd Adcox, Sean Tanner, Robert G., Michael Robert Liska, Tao Lin, John Manov, Jordan Castro, Calvin Atwood, Russel Swensen, Drew Ohringer, Sascha Amato, Claire Donato, Shane Kowalski, Gabriela Gorgas, Katherine Dee, and Genevieve Payne. The cover painting was hole by Kuo Jun You, and the inside covers were mandala 62 by Tao Lin.

The End 2: Love was released in March 2024. It included the writers (in order of appearance) Emilie Lafleur, Jessie Shabin, Alva Elizabeth Hedlund, Nicolette Polek, Stephen Sturgeon, Calvin Atwood, Lamb, William Todd Shultz, Robert G., Alexandra Tanner, Genevieve Payne, Ariel Courage, John Manov, Shy Watson, Tom Will, Zac Smith, Stephanie Yue Duhem, Stephen Elliott, Ella Fishman, Ryan Petersen, William Logan, Ella Fox-Martens, Nicola Maye Goldberg, and Ann Manov. The cover painting was Bed by Nancy Friedland, and the inside covers were signals* by Marcel Krempin.

The End 3: Death was released in June 2024. It included the writers (in order of appearance) Paul Martin, Victoria Rusinov, Anna Windemuth, Natasha Stagg, Anna DeForest, Nicole Treska, Samuel Solleiro, Calvin Atwood, Max Lury, Olivia Baes, Sebastian Castillo, Catherine Foulkrod, Jessie Shabin, Tao Lin, Clare Needham, Matthew Dix, Paul Lomio, Len Sander, and Hieu Nguyen. The outside and inside covers featured Untitled (Street of Philly, after Holly #1) and Untitled (Street of Philly, after Holly #2) by Ruby Thelot.

The End 4: Parents & Children was released in January 2025. It included the writers (in order of appearance) August Lamm, Calvin Atwood, Zsófia Paulicovics, Darina Sikmashvili, Zac Smith, Josh Boardman, Linnie Greene, Eli Woloshin, Jay Graham, Mary Elizabeth Dubois, Kira Homsher, Robert G., Amanda Larson, Sarah Edwards, Natalie Viebrock, and Purbasha Roy. The inside covers featured a photograph by Simon Sarris.
